Vintage at Work (2): Moving Around While Fasting

Lebaran is around the corner and it’s time to refresh your wardrobe (in 1-2 new batiks, out 10-25 o-so-yesterday outfits) and your home (by repainting it white –like million homes do). As for me, I refreshed my office by moving around the furniture to get that fresh new look. The coffee table in the reception area moved to the meeting room. The book rack divider now was put against the wall. And what did I get? The same old vintage look. Only new and fresh. And I am ready for Lebaran already. I should try this more often, so should you. Just a little advice: please dont do it in the morning, you may end up exhausted and breaking your fast …faster. Happy fasting everyone. Beautiful Heads in Darmawangsa

The good thing about having an office space in a mall is every need is only one minute away. Darmawangsa Square –where my office is based– has three art galleries, one auction house and one museum. So today –after I was released from a tiring, long meeting outside– I visited an art exhibition at Yuz Museum which was presenting the artworks of an international contemporary artist Dadang Christanto.  The painting and installation works are curated by Agung Hujatnikajennong.

Through this exhibition the artist “wishes to invite us to reflect upon…history and memory” that’s why you will see plenty of heads in the museum in the next three months– painted with wayang, dogs, buffalo and other javanese objects. Just beautiful. So beautiful that I felt fresh, inspired, almost forgot about that long meeting.

Vintage At Work (Part 2): In Video

How vintage blends with people and gadgets at work as seen in our first posting can now be seen more in this video. A cut from the Dulux Lets Color program on Metro TV broadcast in April 2012. Enjoy and be inspired.
