together in a nice way is –as it turned out– not an easy job. We did some trials and errors, but the result is –I must say– worth the sweat. The items look much nicer in pictures –ooops– well I guess that’s what you get when a photographer (Ricky), a stylist (Veve), a vintage junkie (Sigit) and an ad man (that’s me) work together and shine. Enjoy the video (shot and edited by Dimas) and have a nice long weekend:)
Vintage lovers, another great event is coming to you, this November 10 at Lippo Kemang Village. It is called Retro & Beyond Vintage Auction, organized by the famous Sidharta Auctioneer in collaboration with –who else– Jakarta Vintage. Yes, this is Jakarta Vintage’s first event. And yes, this is an auction. What’s for auction? Well, from Scandinavian styled furniture –as seen in the photos below– to gadgets from the 70’s such as tape recorder, transistor radio and typewriter. There will be over 90 items for auction. Some are Jakarta Vintage collection, and some belong to dear friends who believe in the goodness of vintage. So if you are a true vintage passionista, mark your calendar: Nov 7-10 for viewing, Nov 10 at 1pm for the auction, and make yourself available for the most happening event in Jakarta, be it as a bidder or just a vintage spectator. Visit sidhartaauctioneer.com for details.
Flea market and street finds are becoming art in the creative hands of artist Ade Darmawan, the founder and director of Ruang Rupa. In his solo exhibition called “Human Resource Development” at Ark Galerie (Sep 23- Oct 24), Jakarta Selatan, Ade turns objects such as second-hand chandeliers, used books and vintage desks into an art with a message. I don’t quite understand what the message is, but I do understand now that lost and found finds can make a beautiful art. So inspiring. Just look at these photos
